GWC Fundraising Strategy
GWC relies on an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising. Like many folks, you may think that GWC is directly funded by state and federal money. Not true. GWC does not receive one dime of federal or state government funds. Unlike the other 85 vocational centers in Virginia, we are a self-sufficient training, education and community support facility. Our programs are shaped by a strong entrepreneurial spirit and all GWC activities, programs and organizations share in the care, maintenance and well-being of the facility.

Temporarily, GWC’s sole source of funding comes from the Culpeper County government. In return for matching funds dollar for dollar (or equal value in products and services contributed), Culpeper County has agreed to fund GWC operation and program costs until July 1, 2007. After this date, we are on our own–as it should be.
